LFMI Marks the Ninth Birthday Anniversary
By LFMI
"The Free Market", 1999 No. 6

On November 19, the Lithuanian Free Market Institute celebrated its ninth birthday anniversary. We were delighted to welcome at the birthday party so many of LFMI's fellows and supporters. It was gratifying to hear many cordial greetings and good wishes.

An aphorism lottery and a commentary contest that took place at the party were a real hit. We were enchanted by the resourcefulness of the Institute's fellows! Prizes were awarded for the best three comments. As there was a myriad of engrossing and fascinating ideas, three additional prizes were presented.

Diana Vilytė from the Open Society Fund - Lithuania won the first prize, entitled One day with the Institute, for her comment on the aphorism You have power if many think that you have it. Ms. Vilytė paraphrased it especially for the Lithuanian Free Market Institute: You have power even if many think you don't.

Among the prize winners were Saulius Galadauskas, Coca-Cola Bottlers Lithuania, Stasys Brundza, Eva Auto, Romualdas Kaziliūnas, Eurotextil, and Rimantas Šimkus, the Baltic News Service.
